01 -
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8 ½ x 4 ½ inch loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
02 -
In a large bowl, whisk mashed bananas, eggs, pure maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
03 -
Add almond flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until combined.
04 -
Gently fold in ½ cup of dark chocolate chips to the batter.
05 -
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips on top.
06 -
Bake the loaf for 50 to 65 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center comes out almost clean.
07 -
Allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Remove the loaf and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice into 12 pieces when fully cooled and serve. For best results, enjoy the next day with your favorite nut butter or butter and a sprinkle of sea salt.
