Easy Turkey Brine (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Brine Components

01 - 3 cups apple juice or apple cider
02 - 2 gallons cold water
03 - 4 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves
04 - 5 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 1/2 cups kosher salt
06 - 2 cups brown sugar
07 - 3 tablespoons peppercorns
08 - 5 whole bay leaves
09 - Peel of 3 large oranges

# Instructions:

01 - Combine all ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil, stirring until salt and sugar completely dissolve.
02 - Turn off heat, cover, and allow brine to cool completely to room temperature.
03 - Place uncooked turkey in a brining bag or pot, cover completely with cooled brine solution, and refrigerate for 16-24 hours.
04 - Remove turkey from brine, discard brine, and soak turkey in fresh cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess salt.
05 - Remove from water, pat very dry with paper towels, and cook according to your normal turkey roasting method.

01 - This brine infuses turkey with moisture and flavor, resulting in a juicier finished product.
02 - For best results, ensure the brine is completely cooled before adding the turkey.
