Unicorn Lemonade with Colored Ice (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Unicorn Ice Cubes

01 - 1 ½ cups filtered water (360 mL), divided
02 - 2 drops purple food coloring
03 - 2 drops pink food coloring
04 - 2 drops blue food coloring

→ Lemonade

05 - 4 cups filtered water (960 mL), divided
06 - ½ cup granulated sugar (100 g)
07 - 1 cup fresh lemon juice (240 mL)
08 - Lemon wedges, for garnish
09 - Rainbow sparkling sugar, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - In a spouted liquid measuring cup, stir together ½ cup (120 ml) water and the purple food coloring. Pour the purple water into an ice cube tray. Repeat with the remaining water portions and pink and blue food coloring. Freeze for 4–6 hours until solid.
02 - In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes, or until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and cool completely.
03 - In a pitcher, combine the remaining 3 cups water, cooled simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice. Stir thoroughly, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.
04 - Cut a small slit in a lemon wedge and run it around the rims of the serving glasses, then dip in rainbow sparkling sugar to coat.
05 - Add several unicorn ice cubes to each prepared glass, then pour in the chilled lemonade. Garnish each glass with a lemon wedge before serving.

# Notes:

01 - The colorful ice cubes will gradually melt and create a magical color-changing effect in the lemonade.
02 - For a sparkly version, substitute part of the water with lemon-lime soda or sparkling water just before serving.
