Either lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan or line with parchment paper strips placed crosswise for easy removal of brownies.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine nut butter, maple syrup, egg, avocado oil, baking soda, sea salt, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until a smooth, uniform batter forms.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until slightly puffed in the center and just set but still fudgy in texture.

Allow brownies to cool completely on a wire rack before carefully lifting out of the pan (if using parchment). Slice into squares and serve.
